A firm foundation for efficient case work

Why legal operations consultant Perla Cuevas built four smarter practices on InfoTrack & 8am MyCase

As a former paralegal turned law firm executive, Perla D. Cuevas has personally conducted and managed legal operations from the inside at a variety of firms: insurance defense, plaintiff, national and small. Now, as founder and Chief IQ Officer of legal consultancy FirmIQ, she brings that experience to firms as a fractional C-suite advisor.

Perla has a simple test for every firm she advises. If someone is retyping, renaming, or re-saving information, the process is broken.

$12-15 saved on every rejected filing

InfoTrack doesn't charge again to refile a rejected court document, no matter whose fault it was. InfoTrack firms both reduce their rejected filings and circumvent refiling costs.

InfoTrack's up-front payment of court fees and flexible billing terms give firms room to move cash where it's needed.

Hear from FirmIQ founder Perla D. Cuevas

Perla Cuevas shares why she implemented InfoTrack as an operations executive at three growing law firms, and now advises her own clients to deploy it as essential infrastructure in a fiscally healthy, modern legal practice.

About FirmIQ

FirmIQ is a legal operations consultancy that advises growing firms on operations, finance, marketing, and HR. It promises to help its clients operate smarter, grow faster, and lead with confidence.

Perla started her legal career doing the work herself: billing, timekeeping, filings, service. So when she consults with a new firm, she starts with the stack. What's in place? What's being wasted? What should be connected?

Her approach: Simplify everyday processes using technology partners that do right by their customers.

Before InfoTrack: Costs that quietly added up

Perla first met InfoTrack while working at national insurance defense firm Tyson & Mendes, then brought it with her to litigation firm Kennedy & Souza. Plaintiff firms front everything—filing fees, CMC statements, jury fee deposits—and often wait 30, 60, or even 90 days to get paid. Cash is tight, and the bills don't wait.

Most eFiling vendors made it worse. A rejected filing meant another $12 to $15 to refile, "whether it's our fault, your fault, the court's fault."

And filing was only half the job. Someone had to take what came back from the court, rename it, and save it to the case file. "I had to employ my person another 15-20 minutes and have her stay overtime to get all the filings into the system," Perla says. Now multiply that by every filing day of the year.
