Release summaries

Jan. 6, 2023

Court Filing

  • California (Tyler courts), Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Texas: Resolved an error with the “Refile rejected filing” button for new case initiations, and enhanced communication of Tyler system errors.
  • California (JTI courts): Added a disposition status for each order.
  • California (Los Angeles County): Fixed workflow to account for small claims cases with a demand amount requirement.
  • New York: InfoTrack’s convenience fee is now listed on customer invoices.
  • Texas: Fixed “multiple attorneys are not allowed” error.


Courtesy Copy Delivery (California)

  • Adjusted notification emails to prevent delivery errors when sent through common business email filters.

General
  • Improved syncing for MyCase cases.

Process Serving
  • California (Physical filing courts): Fixed issue that had caused bundled proof of service orders to be incorrectly estimated with an “urgent” service fee. Also added the ability to set a case number manually on the proof of service form.

Court Filing

  • Added clearer instructions for correcting a filename when it uses disallowed characters. 
  • California (Los Angeles Civil): Workflow fix to prevent users from accidentally adding duplicates of the same attorney record. 


DocketSync

  • Florida: New users must agree to the terms of service before activating DocketSync. 
  • Georgia: Improved case search function to retrieve more relevant results.
General
  • iManage users now have access to a Users tab in their Account settings. Admin-level users can add, edit or delete users.
  • Improved messaging when a payment method is declined or expired to suggest possible remedies.

Process Serving
  • California (Los Angeles County): Fixed bug that was preventing users from placing serve orders.

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Added reminder text about the annual 12-case maximum for small claims filings, and resolved an error with fee waiver filing. 
  • California (Los Angeles Civil): Small claims case initiators can choose “Over $10,000 and up to $25,000” for the jurisdictional amount, and can indicate whether the action is to recover Covid-19-related debt. 

Courtesy Copy Delivery

  • California (CCMS courts): Fixed bugs that had sometimes prevented courtesy copy delivery orders from being generated when bundled with an eFiling, or generated them with the wrong relationship to the original order. 

General 
  • Redesigned matter fee summaries for easier sharing and accessibility. 

Process Serving
  • Florida: Fees for stand-alone process serving orders are now displayed in advance. 

Nov. 4, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (eFileCA courts), Illinois, Indiana, Maryland: InfoTrack now recognizes *any* special character used to separate delivery email addresses for courtesy copies, minimizing the risk of lost emails. 

Courtesy Copy Delivery

  • Proof of Delivery documents uploaded via ServeManager now automatically convert to PDF. 

DocketSync

  • New York (LEAP users): Resolved a “card match” error that could prevent syncing. 

General 
  • Clio users: Resolved a “server error” that sometimes occurred when launching InfoTrack from the More Actions drop-down menu. 
  • iManage/NetDocuments users: New users can now set a permanent InfoTrack password after receiving their temporary password. 
  • NetDocuments users: Matter information is now refreshed automatically on all InfoTrack pages as soon as a user changes matters in the NetDocuments interface. 
  • NetDocuments users: Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented files from appearing in the file picker. 

Process Serving
  • Users can now order a process serve for any federal court case in the United States. 
  • For clarity, fee estimates will no longer appear until the user clicks the Validate Fees button. 
  • Proof of Service documents uploaded via ServeManager now automatically convert to PDF. 
  • Resolved issues with inaccurate auto-filling of certain workflow fields in Google Chrome.

Oct. 28, 2022

Court Filing

  • Added character counter for document file names.
  • California (Orange County and eFileCA/JTI courts): Improved handling of fee waiver requests by the filing party.
  • California (JTI courts): Corrected order statuses to match court statuses. 
  • Utah: Four new document types (Safeguarded Contact Information, Notice of Assigned Address, Motion to Consolidate, Stipulated Agreement – Eviction Expungement. 
  • Utah: Users are warned if there is a safeguarded party in the case they are filing into. 

Courtesy Copy Delivery

  • To prevent errors, document names longer than 100 characters are automatically truncated.
     

eService

  • California, Florida: Added eService Complete email notifications for Standalone eServe orders. 

General 
  • Renamed documents no longer trigger an error if they have spaces in the filename. 

Process Serving
  • Removed child orders for disbursed fees to de-clutter the Order Search page. 
  • Improvements to Fee Estimate function for accuracy and clarity. 
  • California: Updated zone pricing to match One Legal. 

Oct. 21, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Order statuses have been changed to official court statuses (Received, Accepted, Rejected, etc.) for clarity. 
  • California (Alameda and Los Angeles Counties): Removed unnecessary “Demand Amount” field from Civil Unlimited cases to prevent errors. 
  • California (JTI courts): Fixed an issue in which attorneys selected from a bar number search did not consistently save as the Lead Attorney on the filing. 

Courtesy Copy Delivery

  • California: Bundled CCD orders are now fulfilled via ServeManager. 

eService

  • California, Florida: Users now receive an email notification when a stand-alone eService order is completed. 
  • Florida: Resolved an issue that had prevented order statuses from displaying on the Order Details screen. 
  • Resolved an error that could appear if a File & eServe order was submitted without a service recipient specified.

DocketSync

  • New York: Added a DocketSync Entries tab to the state File & Serve page, where integrated users can view or add subscriptions.

General 
  • NetDocuments users: Documents automatically converted to PDF from Word format now display the proper PDF file extension.
  • NetDocuments users: The file picker can now detect and choose .doc (Word 97-2004) documents in addition to the more modern .docx extension. 

Process Serving
  • Users can now request cancellation of a serve order from the Order Details screen after it is placed. 
  • Users can add notes with additional instructions to their order after it is placed. 
  • Users now receive an email with detailed notes if their order is placed on hold or canceled. 
  • Fixed an issue that had prevented the Party to Serve name from copying over when a user served an organization. 

Oct. 7, 2022

Court Filing

  • Filing order emails now display any bundled orders (Service of Process, File Proof of Service). 
  • California (Alameda County): Fixed a bug that had hidden the Category drop-down.
  • California (Imperial County): To match court policy, Case Category is no longer required to complete an order.
  • Florida: Added more detailed order statuses (Filed, Received, Correction Queue, Pending Review, etc). 
  • New York: Orders processed by the court (including partial rejections) now display a “Processed” status.

eService

  • California (Tyler courts), Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Texas: Fixed an error that had triggered incorrect “partially processed” email notifications and display statuses when an eServe had actually been completed successfully. 
  • California: Fixed a bug that had caused the status of some bundled eService orders to get stuck at “Pending.”

DocketSync

  • Users can now sync the same case to more than one matter.
General 
  • Clio users: New users who create their accounts from Clio’s Integrations tab are guided through setup with in-app instructions.

Process Serving
  • ServeManager users: Orders canceled in ServeManager now correctly display as “Canceled/Complete” to the end client, and the resulting invoice says “Cancelled No Charges.”
  • ServeManager users: File and directory names that use special characters or exceed length limits are now truncated to prevent linking issues.
  • Smokeball users: Defendants/respondents saved to your Smokeball matter appear as drop-down options in InfoTrack’s Party to Serve section for faster order creation.
  • Smokeball users: Fixed a bug that had prevented saved attorney information in Smokeball from pre-filling in InfoTrack’s Service of Process form.

Sep. 30, 2022

Court Filing

  • Added fee estimates for process serve orders with U.S. military base ZIP codes. 
  • California (Tyler courts), Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Texas: Added explanatory text to remind users when they might need to add optional services and fees. 

Process Serving
  • Added new, more detailed job statuses: “Dispatched,” “Out for Service,” “On Hold,” and “Canceled.”
  • Users may specify an address type: “Home,” “Business,” or “Other.” 
  • New, clearer workflow for serving a subpoena and advancing witness fees. 
  • Indiana, Maryland: Fixed an error that had prevented users from ordering process serves from the state File & Serve page. 

Sep. 23, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Customers can now download court-returned documents directly from the main Order Details pane. 
  • Florida: Fixed an issue that had caused court locations on subsequent filings to not appear in alphabetical order. 
 
DocketSync
  • On each DocketSync Order Details page, users can now click a link to view all their active DocketSync subscriptions. 

Process Serving
  • When serving to an organization, users may designate an authorized agent to receive the serve. 

Sep. 16, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Fixed an issue that had sometimes created a duplicate filing envelope if a filing was generated from a saved draft.
  • Florida: Improved the visibility of some sections of the eFiling workflow that had previously been collapsed by default.
 
DocketSync
  • Fixed an issue that had sometimes prevented Case Description, Docket Number, and Court Name from being displayed on the DocketSync Order Details page.

Process Serving
  • Users can now add one or more reference photos of the service recipient when placing an order.
  • Fixed an error that prevented the creation of process serving orders for self-represented filers.
  • Indiana: Process serves can now be ordered as a stand-alone service, or from an action menu on the Order Details page after a court filing is accepted.
 

Sep. 9, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (San Francisco): Filers may now mark a document as “Confidential.”
  • Florida: Order statuses now update to “Accepted” or “Rejected” status as soon as this information is provided by the court, even if stamped documents have not yet been issued.
 
General
  • Bug fixes to prevent various order types from becoming stuck in processing.

Process Serving
  • The fee estimator now includes details about process serving fees.
 

Sep. 6, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Fixed a bug that sometimes resulted in an “Invalid Case Reference ID” error when filing into an existing case.
  • New York: Fixed a bug that could result in a 500 error with the message “Cannot start the driver.”
 
General
  • The Billing tab is now visible to all users. Non-admin users have read-only access and limited visibility, with a note to request admin status from their account administrator if they would like to make edits.
  • The Users tab is now visible to all users, so everyone can see a complete list of users on their firm’s InfoTrack account. Admin users can make any user on the list an admin. Non-admin users can clearly see who their account administrators are so they can request admin-level access if necessary.
  • Resolved a bug that had prevented users who access InfoTrack from an integrated practice management system from using the search function on the Orders page.

Process Serving
  • Users may specify a service address type (Home, Business, or Other), which will alter the address fields they need to complete.
 

Aug. 29, 2022

Court Filing

  • California (JTI courts): Rejected filings now include comments from the clerk.
  • Florida: Users can now choose their document confidentiality level for case initiation submissions in Circuit Civil, County Civil and Small Claims case types. Also, documents you’ve uploaded are now visible on the Order Details page.
 
General
  • Users launching from a practice management system can now use the search function on the Orders page.
  • Fixed an issue that had been occasionally preventing LEAP integration users from accessing certain pages of the InfoTrack app.

Process Serving
  • Changed language of “Advance witness fees?” checkbox to “Are you serving a subpoena?” for clarity.
 

Aug. 16, 2022

Courtesy Copy Delivery

  • California: Users can now order courtesy copy delivery independently of a court filing.


Court Filing

  • California (JTI and CCMS courts): Fixed an issue that had prevented fee summaries from generating properly on partial rejections.
  • Florida: Documents with fees are now marked as the lead document by default.
 
Process Serving
  • On the Order List screen, the Status filter now filters statuses.
  • New notes added to an order generate their own emails instead of being combined with service attempt emails.

    Court Filing

    • California (Orange and San Diego counties): Added the ability to choose “Self-Represented” in the “Filed by Representation” list, so you can file on behalf of parties that are not represented by an attorney.

    • Utah: Users can now launch process serving orders from the Utah state filing page.

    • Utah: Rich text (RTF) files saved to your case or document management system are now visible in the file picker after you launch an InfoTrack order from your matter.
